We might have expected

We might have expected fireworks on Board 1 but it fizzled out into a damp squib. Boards 3 and 4 were both decided by the win of a pawn and despite stubborn resistance the extra pawn was sufficient to win. Game of the match was on Board 2 were two of Preston`s now stalwart and popular players faced each other. Hambel has had a great run of consistent results but on this occasion Seb`s all-out attacking approach paid off. Hambel had won material but at the cost of her pieces being poorly-positioned to defend her king.
