On board 1 we had reached

On board 1 we had reached move 24 with a pretty much even position out of the opening. A one move blunder by me though threw the game away allowing my king and an undefended rook to be forked by Danny’s queen and the game was over. On board 2, Richard’s king got stuck in the centre of the board early on after a knight check. Whilst he was trying to get his king to safety Sebastien won two vital central pawns. In the rook and bishop endgame that followed the extra passed b pawn that Sebastien ended up with was too strong and won the game for him. On board 3 Pat never really recovered from losing a pawn early on. Jonathan defended well to stave off a mate attack later on and a few moves later Pat’s knight became trapped and taken off the board. Jonathan eventually queened a pawn leading to a resignation. On board 4 Graham went a pawn up fairly on in the game and, later on, pressure built up with both rooks on the e file led to two additional pawns being won. After all the pieces had been swapped off Andrew resigned as there was no way to stop these extra pawns with a king alone.
