This match ,a dead rubber to Southbourne but vital to Highcliffe was played in a great spirit. Southbourne did Bournemouth proud they could not have fought harder. We outgraded Southbourne significantly on boards 1,2 and 3 , board 4 Isaac is proving a very capable new member. By 9 o'clock it was 1-1 with myself struggling for equality with Mike, and Ken in a battle with Brian. We needed a win and a draw to secure the title. Myself and Mike both punch drunk and weary playing on increments agreed a draw when the position repeated itself. It doesn't tell the full story as Mike played really well probably deserving to win. So 1.5-1.5 ,all down to Ken . As has happened many times this year Ken found a way to win. So in typical B &DCL style the league was won on the last board in the last match on final day late into the night. Thank you to Bournemouth A for their sportsmanship and determination bringing out the best in us. Best wishes to all RU

Southbourne B v Highcliffe B
Congratulations to Highcliffe winning an exciting match, both teams weakened by absentees. Well done Ken for taking full advantage of a positional error.
