Almost a 500 point Gap in the Teams , but it was a bit closer than the score suggests
First to finish was Steve who overcame Florence on Board 1 . Then John Bowley on Board 4 mounted a strong attack on John Harris's King , so Wimborne went 2-0 ahead . My game against Peter was a cagey affair where Peter defended very accurately , but burned a load of time in the Process . There was a big swap off of the Queens and minor pieces. Peter accepted a draw in game , which secured Wimborne the match. The game could have gone on some but Peters time was almost gone. Jason Wang was behind on material and on time somewhat , but he wouldnt give up and played very well to defend against a passed pawn playing on increments . Eventually he won the Game on time as John was unable to find a way through and got flustered in time trouble himself - Very well played Jason and thanks to Southbourne for hosting tonight . At 9-45 pm there were still 8 Games and 2 Matches going strong . A great evening . g

Wimborne C were worthy winners
As always, we welcome teams from Wimborne. This seemed to be a comfortable win for Wimborne C as at one stage it looked as though Southbourne C may not score many points. Graham has summarised the match well with Jason adding respectability to the match scoreline. We look forward to the return leg at Wimborne.
